About our Honey

DARLINGS is passionate about preserving the natural “home” of our bees (hive). Our overall goal in natural beekeeping is to achieve a state of sustainability. Our Stingless Itama Bee Honey is harvested from our farms deep in the forests of Malaysia. We believe in “Forest to bottle”, where our honey is bottled at source to lock in the freshness and nutrients.

DARLINGS 着重保护与维护蜜蜂的 “家”(蜂巢), 其宗旨在于天然地养殖蜜蜂以达到可持续性的发展。我们无刺的银蜂源自于马来西亚的森林深处的养蜂场。我们坚信以”森林至瓶子”的采集方式，让我们蜂蜜的新鲜度直接被封存在最佳的同时也保存所有的营养成分。

Our farms are deep in the forest of Malaysia, in which the bees are native to the area, and the bees roam freely collecting nectar from various organic fruits and wild flowers. Hence, it is very important that we keep the bees deep in the forest, which is abundant in natural flora.

我们养蜂场立于马来西亚森林深处，蜂将们在原生森林毫无拘束的漫游在各种有机水果和野花中收集花蜜。故而，我们放养蜜蜂们在森林的深处，纯天然的百花中是非常重要的。

We believe in mutual gain, as such, we source from our farms, located deep in the forests, where we benefit the local village people to help take care and gather the honey from our tree trunks. In this way, we can support the local village people to earn a living, especially during these difficult times. Did you know that each bottle takes almost half a day to gather the honey from the hives?

Our honey is made from 100% raw and pure honey, with no other additives. Our sole ingredient in every bottle is ‘Halal’, but we do not have certification yet.

我们的蜂蜜是由100%的纯生蜂蜜制成，没有其他添加剂。我们每一瓶成分都是”清真”的，只是暂时还没得到认证。

We believe in the concept of “Forest to Bottle”, where we bottle directly as soon as we harvest. Nothing else is added. We take pride in ensuring our honey is harvested from farms deep within the forest of Malaysia, as such, it is organic, as the bees are free to gather nectar from wild flowers and multitude of fruits available in the forest.

Our Time-aged honey goes through our unique temperature controlled environment to aged the honey. This gives its distinctive darker colour compared to Fresh honey. Even for Fresh honey, the colours may vary, depending on the the season, the type of fruits and flowers that the hardworking bees gather nectar from. So, enjoy the wonderful flavours of nature in every bottle!

Ours is forest farmed honey. Research by our government universities in Malaysia have found that forest harvested honey contains the highest level of phenolic acid and flavanoids, compared to city/home farms which have less concentration of phenols and flavanoids.

Our honey contains the highest levels of phenolic acid for beauty from DNA level – from within your skin. Improves skin tone (FAIRER), restore skin suppleness (less wrinkles). That is why scientist have called this honey the “Elixir of Youth”. Our honey also contains the highest levels of flavanoids for health – anti inflammatory (anti cancer) and in most recent studies, scientist have shown that our honey may even cure some cancers.

Stingless bee honey comes from the Trigona family of bees, which are native to only 5 countries in the world! Luckily for you, Malaysia is one of them! In local language, Malays call this ‘kelulut honey’, but there are many kinds of kelulut honey available in Malaysia. We take pride and passion in harvesting only the best Stingless bee honey available deep in the forest of Malaysia.

1. Our honey is forest farm, using natural wood trunks (not transplanted bees into man-made boxes for mass production). As a result, our honey is much more nutritious compared to those mass produced city farms (and we have scientific journal that proves that). 3. Because our honey is not mass produced, it is small batch produce, which means it is more precious and not as cheap as mass production ones. 4. Each batch has test report by Malaysia Genome Institute to prove authentic, pure & raw stingless honey. ((many brands dont even has test certificate, and some that has only test 1 time when they started their business, but not test for each batch). In fact, many brands make 1 batch pure honey for testing, then the next batches its fake/mixed sugar,because they are greedy, and cannot wait for bees to gather the honey for harvest. ((did u know that one bee hive can only harvest 2 times per year))

We have 3 range, Obsidan – fresh honey – straight from beehive into the bottle. Taste slightly sweet and less citrusy. Easy to to drink on its own or even use it as a marinate for meat and salads. Alexandrite- Time Aged Honey – it is aged at the specific temperature (too hot enzyme will die, too cold enzyme won’t activate) to activate and maintain the enzyme. It is more nutritious and provides many health benefits. Taste is more citrusy and gives you a pleasant spark at your taste buds. Blue Diamond – barrel aged honey – Honey aged in French Oak Wood virgin barrels to activate more enzymes, creating a very smooth, full body, richer and bolder flavour, with hints of almond, vanilla and woody notes, naturally infused from the wooden barrels over a several months. –> First and Only in Asia!

Manuka honey originates from New Zealand only, and uses measurements like UMF or MGO , its just a measurement made by NZ government to help standardise their manuka honey. It measures the activity of antibacterial properties in manuka. <read this link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/21sD2l323f9hzdfM7Smw9B4/is-manuka-honey-worth-the-money > Since our Stingless honey is not yet globally renowned (only 6-7 markets worldwide produce it), there is not standard set yet by our Malaysian government. However, there are numerous medical journals and scientific research, and it was found that Stingless Honey is actually more beneficial than even manuka! Thanks to its lower sugar content, its safe for diabetics. (Manuka contains about 35% glucose sugar, whilst our Stingless Itama Honey only contains 8% glucose sugar) Also Stingless honey contains not only antibacterial properties, it also has more antioxidants than any other honey, as well as anti-tiviral properties (suitable to protect against COVID) and beauty benefits thanks to its high concentration of natural Phenolic acids. [DARLINGS Itama Golden Propolis] is a natural ingredient made by stingless bees, and has natural antibiotic properties from bee enzymes combined with substances the bees collect from buds and tree barks. It is used to coat the internal structure of the honey pots and seal their hives, protecting it with a bacteria and virus free environment. Propolis is known for its high level of bioflavonoids and extraordinary active antioxidants. Our 5ml bottle contains approximately 110 drops of super concentrated rich essence of Golden Propolis; while our 10ml bottle contains approximately 220 drops of super concentrated rich essence of Golden Propolis. Since it is so concentrated, only 1 drop for every 10KG body weight is sufficient (approximately 5 drops for an average person) once per day. Many other manufacturers sell cheaper Propolis which is NOT pure, and is diluted, meaning you need to take as much as 10 to 30 drops for it to be effective! Thus, one bottle of DARLINGS Itama Golden Propolis is more value for money and can be used for longer!
